When Life Gives You Obstacles and the Only Thing You Can Do is JUMP!

Remember how I shared in the last blog about finally receiving clarity on God’s calling for my life? Hallelujah! Now here’s the kicker: that clarity wasn’t a neat little instruction manual. It was more like a divine confirmation, a cosmic thumbs-up for the burning desire already roaring in my heart. The path, however, remained shrouded in fog, and I think I was just happy to hear His voice.

Let’s be real, folks. I have got to say, “I hate change!”, – God knows it, why everyone knows it. Change is my kryptonite. My comfy job, and the steady paycheck coming in week after week – they were my security blanket, even if they were secretly holding me back.  As Isaiah 43:19 declares, “See, I am doing a new thing! Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”  The irony? The “wilderness” terrified me.

But here’s where things get interesting. My passion for this calling was undeniable, the whispers from God urging me forward were constant, and the timing – it felt divinely orchestrated. This was it, the moment to step up and do what I was created to do!

Except for one stubborn obstacle: that comfy job and paycheck.  Crazy, right? Losing all that security, was the very thing that fueled my passion to embrace this change. It was the necessary push to take the leap and overcome the fear of failure and falling into the abyss.

See, the confirmation from God was a gift, a reassurance. Yet without the jolt of losing my job and income, I might have stayed comfortably stuck, clinging to the familiar for dear life.  Maybe that’s why some things that feel like setbacks are actually God’s way of clearing a path.

So, here I stand, teetering on the edge of the unknown, a thrilling blend of excitement and terror coursing through me.  But fear doesn’t get the final say. My faith does. My passion does. So that persistent nudge from the Holy Spirit keeps whispering, “Trust me, it’s gonna be amazing!”
